NOT AGAIN

Karma sucks, at times!
Last night I was telling Robby that I just wanted a day off to do nothing. At 7 am Jaydn comes in our room, which she never does on a weekday, and informs us that her throat hurts. Hoping it was just allergies but went ahead and made her a doctors appointment just to be on the safe side. We had her parent teacher's conference this morning, so after wards we headed off to the doctor. Of course, she has STREP THROAT-AGAIN! She has only been off of antibotics for 6 days. I'm beyond frustrated. Her doctor made her puke. He swabbed her throat (she has horrible gag reflexes) and proceeds to puke on his floor. He felt horrible but she then puked again in the parking lot of the pharmacy. So I got my day off, not in the manner of which I would have liked, but we did NOTHING today. I also woke up feeling not so well, drainage, but I can't take much for it!
On a side note, the parent teacher conference went really well. She said that Jaydn is doing awesome! She is reading amazingly and is great to have in class! Glad she behaves for her teacher since she doesn't listen to her mommy!!
Also, I finally got my results for my real estate class that I had to take in order to take the test with the state. I didn't feel confident after taking the test and was sure that I had failed. You are only allowed to miss 28 and when I got my results today, I had missed 17!!! Such a huge relief. Now I have to take the state exam. Fingers crossed that I can pass it!
We only have a couple of weeks until we come to Idaho and we can not wait! We look forward to seeing everyone and hopefully we will all be feeling better by then!

Happy Halloween

The Gabehart's had a BLAST this Halloween. It was cold as heck with rain, wind, and about 50ish degrees..if not colder.
We decorated the house, which I will post pictures of later, and had fun scaring the little children!!!
Hope you enjoy the pictures. We had a great time and are already plotting for next year.

I say the family that bites together, stays together!

Reunion!

Ok, finally something is working for me. I tried putting in a couple of other pictures but it wasn't working correctly! ANYHOW!! Jaydn and I were able to go down and see Kasey and Sadie while they were in SC!! I am so glad that we got to spend the day together. I have missed them dearly and was grateful for the day we had. Jaydn had a blast with Auntie Kasey and wanted to go home with her. Hopefully Jaydn didn't infect anyone since she woke up with strep throat the next day.

Me and Boog!!! ( I just can't not call you that, I hope you don't mind!!!) We so do not look like we are in our 30's..we are HOT!!!

Jaydn at the pumpkin patch!

Jaydn in the tractor..eat your heart out Papa!

Jaydn and Sadie on the tractor ride.

Me and bug...of course she would be silly!

OMG!!!!

Last night Robby was on the phone with his mom while I sat on the couch relaxing. He had been burning piles of brush in the fire pit earlier in the evening so when he came "running" in to get a bucket, I thought maybe the fire had gotten out of control. I didn't think anything more about it until he came back into the house about 30 minutes later.
He sat on the couch and said" I have something to tell you, but I don't want to". That is NEVER a good way to start a conversation. My response, "what did you catch on fire". If you know Robby's history, you know this isn't an unusual question to ask!!! (Love ya babe) He ho-hummed around the subject until he told me that this is what he found.........

I HATE snakes! When I asked for the details of the snakes capture, he was like.."are you sure you want to know right before bed. I know how you are about snakes." He caught a glimpse of something as he was walking in the house and no and behold, this little guy was on the front porch, above where we would walk...ewwww. He put it in the bucket until this morning when he so nicely "took care" of it! We aren't sure what kind it is. We have several different kinds of poisonous snakes around here so we are hoping it's not. We will be doing research though until we figure it out!

DENTIST.....URGH!

Yesterday was suppose to be the "big" day that Jaydn had 4 of her baby teeth pulled. We were as prepared as possible. She had finally gotten nervous and didn't want to have it done and I of course was a ball of anxiety. Robby had luckily gotten the morning off to go with us, which was a huge relief. Jaydn got up at 7:45 and wanted to have a go-gurt and a granola bar. I didn't think anything about it and figured she should have something in her tummy.
We get to the dentist, they were suppose to start the sedation at 9:30. At 9:45 I go to the counter to ask if they were just running behind or what. When the dental assistant took us back she asked when Jaydn last ate. I told her this morning. Little did I know and Little did THEY TELL me, she couldn't eat. So after all the anxiety and build-up, we had to reschedule. They offered to pull two with just the laughing gas but I said NO. I was so pissed. This is after I already had an issue with one of the other dental assistant's in the office.
She is now scheduled for Sept 22, which is really bad timing. Robby won't be able to be there, but I'll get through it. Just not looking forward to it at all. I will keep you all posted on the process!

Mini Family Vacation

Before summer ended we decided to take a mini family vacation to Wilmington, NC! Thank goodness we did it when we did since Hurricane Irene is threatening to hit this weekend. Keeping fingers crossed that she weakens and we don't get hit hard.
We spent Saturday thru Tuesday in a little cabin, that was awesome, about 10 minutes from the beach. We had a blast!

Jaydn and Robby running down the beach!

Aren't we cute?

This is the living space of the cabin. The door beside the futon is the main bedroom that had a queen sized bed and a closet. Behind me is a second bedroom that had a bunkbed. And to the left front of me is the bathroom. It had a deck, bbq, fire pit area, and a swing.

Jaydn actually let us bury her in the sand!

The body board was the best investment. She loved being out there with daddy!

Getting past the shallow water is the hardest part.

GO JAYDN!

I love it!

An Albino Alligator at the aquarium. He was trippy looking.

Jaydn and daddy in front of the HUGE one.

Me and BUG!

The cabin had a pool. She has turned into a little fish!

This was my 3 attempt at getting a good picture of us. The first time he flipped me off...typical Robby.
We can't wait until next year and hopefully we will get to spend a week at the beach!

Thanksgiving!

Hey everyone!
Just wanted to let ya'll know that we will be coming home for Thanksgiving! I don't know what the plans are for that day yet or the exact date we will be in Moscow, but it will be sometime around the 20th! We will be spending a few days up North with Janice and her family before heading home. I can't wait to see everyone. We might even have a birthday party for Jaydn as well, she will be turning 7 on Thanksgiving. Amazing how quickly the time passes. Anyhow, we look forward to hopefully seeing everyone while we are there!

It's not Good-bye...it's see you in Heaven

It is with great sadness that I type this. Some of you already know, but for those of you that do not, Great Grandpa Lippincott passed away on Wednesday. He had been in a nursing home for about a month. He had not been doing so well for a couple of months after a freak accident that broke his hip.
He was an amazing man who will forever hold a very special place in my heart. It's hard knowing that I will not see him again, but a relief to know that he is no longer in any pain. I know that he is being taken care of and is in God's hands now.

It's been a rough couple of days, but my heart goes out to Grandma Lippincott and the rest of the family. This is a very difficult time for all and I send my love to everyone.

Until I see you again in Heaven "Old Man", I love you!!!

Want a FRIEND???

Well I don't think that anyone wants this kind of friend! However, this is what Robby and I found in the firepit area. We took the top part off to drain the water and found her in there with her egg sack. While I ran up to get something to kill this GINORMOUS Black Widow, she started moving her egg sag to a hiding spot. We were able to get the egg sack taken care of, but not her. She is now on my list of things to get rid of. I haven't seen many black widow's in my day, but she is by far the biggest one I have ever seen. This picture just doesn't seem to do her justice.

Yard projects

We have started many projects around the house and for the most part have gotten them done! Here is a picture of the house after we planted some flowers. I'm still working on having a green thumb!

The Gerbera Daisy's have done awesome. It's too bad they are an annual flower. I know that I will be planting a lot more of them next year though.

This was the start of putting Jaydn's swing set together. It took us 12, yes 12, hours to put it together. We have since put down mulch and an edge to it. We need to re-do some of the mulch but it looks great.

We had to stain the deck! It wasn't a difficult task, just tedious! It's done and now we are on to doing the 470 feet of fence that we have to do :(. Anyone want to come and help us?

This is the firepit!!! We love this area. It needs a little bit more work. We leveled it out with sand and then put the pavers down. However, we had a massive rain storm and a lot of the sand washed away. We have to figure out how to fix it and try to keep the sand from going anywhere. We have enjoyed spending nights down there. It will be perfect once the weather cools down.

I will post more pictures of the outside projects after we get the fence done!

Hello

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let everyone know that all is well on the East Coast. I am missing everyone on the West Coast like mad and can't wait until we are able to make it back. I've been a complete slacker on keeping this updated and apologize. I am busy at the moment painting a portion of the house, I hate flat paint. I think that the builders should be "shot" for using that crap. So hopefully after I get some more painting done, I will update. I have a couple of videos of Jaydn playing t-ball that I need to get posted on here and some house pictures as well. Robby and I have been busy trying to get some outside projects completed. Being a homeowner is awesome, but also very tiring, time consuming, and expensive!
Hope everyone is well and I will try to get some pictures and such put on here soon!
Love to all

Swing batter batter, SWING

Jaydn recently started playing T-ball! We love it. Jaydn thinks it's boring and I would have to agree with her. Her coach isn't really teaching them about the game, they can only run to first base, and there are no outs. She is a good player though. They pitch to them and if they can't hit it within 3 pitches, they get to hit it off of the T. Well Jaydn is the only girl and the only one that hit it from the pitch!!! It was a proud mommy moment!

Jaydn waiting for her game to start!

Her second hit of the first game!

Jaydn playing 3 base on their second game. She was BORED!

And thus begins the flower picking.

Daddy tried all game to get a picture of her sliding. He didn't manage to get one so after the game he took this.
GO DODGERS!!!!

JOB

While I was down in North Carolina, I had a job interview!!! Sort of a scary proposition as I haven't worked in 6 years, but I've been given an amazing opportunity. There is a company called First Command that advises people on what to do with their money, life insurance, etc. We are clients and our advisor made a call to the office in Fayetteville and got me the interview. The interview went amazingly and I have the option of becoming a financial advisor. I would do 12 weeks of training with no pay and then after that 12 weeks and becoming licensed, I would be able to start seeing clients. I would be on a salary with the potential of getting bonuses for the first 2 years and after that I will become an independent advisor.
I have gone back and forth about what to do. I am afraid of failing and not being able to build up a client base. I am also fearful of what to do with Jaydn. It's been so nice to be able to come and go as I please for the past 6 years, but this past 6 months since she's been in school have been BORING. I want to be able to do something for me and feel like I'm being a productive member of society. SO after much discussion with Robby and contemplating what to do, I think I'm going to make the leap and take this opportunity. If it doesn't work out, I haven't really lost anything! I might feel like an idiot, but I will go on with my life and find something else to do. If it works, great. The first year is probably going to be pretty tough with learning new information and trying to build a client base, but with the support of Robby and Jaydn, I think I can do it.
Hopefully I'll be able to get some time off so I can come visit with Robby and Jaydn this fall!!!
I will keep you all posted on my progress!

HOMEOWNERS

Well it is finally official, we are HOMEOWNERS!!!! I drove down to North Carolina yesterday to sign the papers this morning. There was a minor glitch in the paperwork, which had to be redone, and papers signed in the late afternoon. I'm still down in North Carolina so that I can get Jaydn enrolled into her new school, taxes done, and utilities hooked up!!!!!!
Jaydn and I will be moving down next weekend and we can't wait! I will post pictures when we get painting done and stuff moved in. We are so excited to start this phase of our life.
Oh, and I have a job if I want it. I would be financial advisor, which would be great, but I don't know if I'm the sales type person. Lots to talk about with Robby and will keep you posted!

MOVING...AGAIN!!!

Well, it's that time AGAIN, we are MOVING!!! The movers came yesterday and packed all of our stuff and they are coming today to load it onto the truck. I was really impressed by the team they had yesterday. There were 4 of them, two guys and two girls, and they packed our entire house in 5 hours. When we moved here it took 2 guys 2 full days. We will be staying at our friends house down the street while they are away. I go down to North Carolina next Tuesday to close on the house!!! We are so excited! I will send our address to everyone and our new phone number. We still have the same cell numbers but will be getting a house phone.

Judy came to visit last weekend and we had a great time. We were able to take her to North Carolina and show her the house! Jaydn had a blast playing with Gaga and is wondering when her and Gma Sharen are coming again. Thanks mom for coming and for helping me chose paint! I can't wait for you to see it when you come again!

In Jaydn news, she has 2 teeth that are loose!!! We'll keep you posted on the progress of that. I think she is screwed because neither Robby or myself will be able to help her pull it out..hehe!!!

BIEBER FEVER

Well, it's official, Jaydn has BIEBER fever. She has been all about him for some time now, but I think it's gotten worse. She knew his movie was coming out this weekend so being the good mommy that I am (hehe), I took her to see the movie on Saturday.I figured it would be packed, but it wasn't, thankfully.
Jaydn loved the movie but wants to watch it in 3D next time. I have to say that it was a very well put together movie. As much as many might find Justin to be annoying, he appears to be a very well rounded kid and I hope he always remembers where he comes from and how he got started. Definitely don't want him turning into a Miley Cyrus :(
I do hope that he has a tour one of these days, I would love to take Jaydn to see him.

JUMP ROPE FOR HEART

Jaydn came home the other night all excited. She gave me a flier for the Jump Rope for Heart! I simply said: "honey, you don't know how to jump rope". "So", she says. So when we had her parent teacher conference I found the gym teacher to ask if she could still do it. She was ecstatic to find out that she could still participate! I've sent out an email where you can make donations if you would like. I'd like to say THANK YOU to those that have already donated. I can remember doing Jump Rope for Heart when I was in school! I always had so much fun and hope that she does too. After losing Grandpa to a heart attack way too early in life, this has an even more special place in our hearts! I'm so glad that she is able to participate and hopefully one day, maybe I can do it again!
On another note, parent-teacher conference went well! She is where she is suppose to be and a joy to have in class. Mrs. Carrell is going to begin pushing her harder in reading. Jaydn is a little hesitant when she reads, especially in front of the class but she knows that she has it in her to excell! And apparently she listens well and isn't easily side tracked in class. I guess she leaves that trait for her parents to deal with :)
I need to go and wake Robby up. He has apparently fallen asleep with Jaydn after reading her nightly story. So sweet!

Shoulder Update

Happy Sunday everyone! Thought I would give you all an update on my shoulder. As most of you know, I had a "fatty" tumor (lypolma) in my shoulder that needed to come out. I've had a lot of problems in that area for the past year and was tired of it. I, not so happily, agreed to have it taken out. It was a pretty small tumor and they will send it off to make sure it's nothing major, which I'm sure it's not.
Of course it's my right shoulder which requires lots of use. It's been sore and uncomfortable since Friday. I have good times and not so good and sleep is nearly impossible. Hopefully by the end of the week I will be feeling much much better. I go in on Thursday for a follow up. The surgeon put stitches on the inside and glued my skin. Sure wish they would have just done stitches so I wouldn't have to worry about showering. Oh well.
I'll keep everyone posted on what the surgeon says. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. Love you all!

Cabin Tip, August 2010

In August we took a family trip to Missouri, rented a cabin for a weekend, and did some fishing. It was so nice to have a weekend with no phones, internet, or anything. I think I could get use to that kind of lifestyle.

This was what we "ran" into on the way home. We got stuck in traffic for almost an hour. A motor home caught fire. There was NOTHING left of it.

The bedroom

This was the living room/dining room.

Kitchen.

Just realized that Robby looks mad in this photo. Wouldn't think that he would be mad when he's out in the boat but stranger things have happened...maybe the fishing was getting him down.
Beautiful sunset.

Mom and Jaydn!
If you look very very closely there is a bald Eagle in the tree. We watched him/her for a very long time and hoped that he/she would fly. But it never did. Still an amazing sight to see.

Sharen catching some Z's

Goodnight Moon

The Moon was amazing tonight! I tried to get some pictures of it but it's always so hard to get them to come out just right. However, I was pretty pleased with these. Hope you enjoy.

Ice skating

We finally found somewhere to go Ice Skating and surprised Jaydn with a trip! She was a little apprehensive at first, but then was excited..until she got on the ice. She wasn't so sure about it. Dad made it a lot of fun and a great partner for her...mom on the other hand stayed in the arena..no skates for this girl.

Daddy and Jaydn!!!

I think Robby got a great workout from trying to help her! She just wouldn't keep her body straight.

Need a break!
The buckets helped a bit, but not a lot. She gave up on them on about the third lap.

HI MOM!

She was getting much better towards the end of the adventure and was keeping herself up! So proud of her.
