JUMP ROPE FOR HEART

Jaydn came home the other night all excited. She gave me a flier for the Jump Rope for Heart! I simply said: "honey, you don't know how to jump rope". "So", she says. So when we had her parent teacher conference I found the gym teacher to ask if she could still do it. She was ecstatic to find out that she could still participate! I've sent out an email where you can make donations if you would like. I'd like to say THANK YOU to those that have already donated. I can remember doing Jump Rope for Heart when I was in school! I always had so much fun and hope that she does too. After losing Grandpa to a heart attack way too early in life, this has an even more special place in our hearts! I'm so glad that she is able to participate and hopefully one day, maybe I can do it again!
On another note, parent-teacher conference went well! She is where she is suppose to be and a joy to have in class. Mrs. Carrell is going to begin pushing her harder in reading. Jaydn is a little hesitant when she reads, especially in front of the class but she knows that she has it in her to excell! And apparently she listens well and isn't easily side tracked in class. I guess she leaves that trait for her parents to deal with :)
I need to go and wake Robby up. He has apparently fallen asleep with Jaydn after reading her nightly story. So sweet!

Shoulder Update

Happy Sunday everyone! Thought I would give you all an update on my shoulder. As most of you know, I had a "fatty" tumor (lypolma) in my shoulder that needed to come out. I've had a lot of problems in that area for the past year and was tired of it. I, not so happily, agreed to have it taken out. It was a pretty small tumor and they will send it off to make sure it's nothing major, which I'm sure it's not.
Of course it's my right shoulder which requires lots of use. It's been sore and uncomfortable since Friday. I have good times and not so good and sleep is nearly impossible. Hopefully by the end of the week I will be feeling much much better. I go in on Thursday for a follow up. The surgeon put stitches on the inside and glued my skin. Sure wish they would have just done stitches so I wouldn't have to worry about showering. Oh well.
I'll keep everyone posted on what the surgeon says. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. Love you all!

Cabin Tip, August 2010

In August we took a family trip to Missouri, rented a cabin for a weekend, and did some fishing. It was so nice to have a weekend with no phones, internet, or anything. I think I could get use to that kind of lifestyle.

This was what we "ran" into on the way home. We got stuck in traffic for almost an hour. A motor home caught fire. There was NOTHING left of it.

The bedroom

This was the living room/dining room.

Kitchen.

Just realized that Robby looks mad in this photo. Wouldn't think that he would be mad when he's out in the boat but stranger things have happened...maybe the fishing was getting him down.
Beautiful sunset.

Mom and Jaydn!
If you look very very closely there is a bald Eagle in the tree. We watched him/her for a very long time and hoped that he/she would fly. But it never did. Still an amazing sight to see.

Goodnight Moon

The Moon was amazing tonight! I tried to get some pictures of it but it's always so hard to get them to come out just right. However, I was pretty pleased with these. Hope you enjoy.

Ice skating

We finally found somewhere to go Ice Skating and surprised Jaydn with a trip! She was a little apprehensive at first, but then was excited..until she got on the ice. She wasn't so sure about it. Dad made it a lot of fun and a great partner for her...mom on the other hand stayed in the arena..no skates for this girl.

Daddy and Jaydn!!!

I think Robby got a great workout from trying to help her! She just wouldn't keep her body straight.

Need a break!
The buckets helped a bit, but not a lot. She gave up on them on about the third lap.

HI MOM!

She was getting much better towards the end of the adventure and was keeping herself up! So proud of her.
