JUMP ROPE FOR HEART

Jaydn came home the other night all excited. She gave me a flier for the Jump Rope for Heart! I simply said: "honey, you don't know how to jump rope". "So", she says. So when we had her parent teacher conference I found the gym teacher to ask if she could still do it. She was ecstatic to find out that she could still participate! I've sent out an email where you can make donations if you would like. I'd like to say THANK YOU to those that have already donated. I can remember doing Jump Rope for Heart when I was in school! I always had so much fun and hope that she does too. After losing Grandpa to a heart attack way too early in life, this has an even more special place in our hearts! I'm so glad that she is able to participate and hopefully one day, maybe I can do it again!
On another note, parent-teacher conference went well! She is where she is suppose to be and a joy to have in class. Mrs. Carrell is going to begin pushing her harder in reading. Jaydn is a little hesitant when she reads, especially in front of the class but she knows that she has it in her to excell! And apparently she listens well and isn't easily side tracked in class. I guess she leaves that trait for her parents to deal with :)
I need to go and wake Robby up. He has apparently fallen asleep with Jaydn after reading her nightly story. So sweet!

Shoulder Update

Happy Sunday everyone! Thought I would give you all an update on my shoulder. As most of you know, I had a "fatty" tumor (lypolma) in my shoulder that needed to come out. I've had a lot of problems in that area for the past year and was tired of it. I, not so happily, agreed to have it taken out. It was a pretty small tumor and they will send it off to make sure it's nothing major, which I'm sure it's not.
Of course it's my right shoulder which requires lots of use. It's been sore and uncomfortable since Friday. I have good times and not so good and sleep is nearly impossible. Hopefully by the end of the week I will be feeling much much better. I go in on Thursday for a follow up. The surgeon put stitches on the inside and glued my skin. Sure wish they would have just done stitches so I wouldn't have to worry about showering. Oh well.
I'll keep everyone posted on what the surgeon says. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. Love you all!

Cabin Tip, August 2010

In August we took a family trip to Missouri, rented a cabin for a weekend, and did some fishing. It was so nice to have a weekend with no phones, internet, or anything. I think I could get use to that kind of lifestyle.

This was what we "ran" into on the way home. We got stuck in traffic for almost an hour. A motor home caught fire. There was NOTHING left of it.

The bedroom

This was the living room/dining room.

Kitchen.

Just realized that Robby looks mad in this photo. Wouldn't think that he would be mad when he's out in the boat but stranger things have happened...maybe the fishing was getting him down.
Beautiful sunset.

Mom and Jaydn!
If you look very very closely there is a bald Eagle in the tree. We watched him/her for a very long time and hoped that he/she would fly. But it never did. Still an amazing sight to see.

Goodnight Moon

The Moon was amazing tonight! I tried to get some pictures of it but it's always so hard to get them to come out just right. However, I was pretty pleased with these. Hope you enjoy.

Ice skating

We finally found somewhere to go Ice Skating and surprised Jaydn with a trip! She was a little apprehensive at first, but then was excited..until she got on the ice. She wasn't so sure about it. Dad made it a lot of fun and a great partner for her...mom on the other hand stayed in the arena..no skates for this girl.

Daddy and Jaydn!!!

I think Robby got a great workout from trying to help her! She just wouldn't keep her body straight.

Need a break!
The buckets helped a bit, but not a lot. She gave up on them on about the third lap.

HI MOM!

She was getting much better towards the end of the adventure and was keeping herself up! So proud of her.

Our NEW HOUSE!!!!

So as most of you know, we are moving to Fort Bragg, North Carolina in March! After many years of living in military housing or renting, we've decided to take the plunge and buy a house! We will be in NC for up to 5 years and the interest rates are amazing, so it's the right time. Robby had to come to NC for work so Jaydn and I came with him and we've spent the last 4 days looking at houses. I have to say that looking at houses is exhausting! After three days Robby and I narrowed it down to two houses. They were both about the same price but in completely different locations...city vs. country. We ended up going with country/rural! We love this house.
There is only thing that I wish was different and that is that there isn't a room for the laundry, it's just a closet. But it will work!
We put an offer in on it today and they accepted. We are waiting until the end of February to close and will finally move in in March!

The front of the new house. Even has a front porch that my rocking chairs will go great in.

The entry way of the house! I LOVE this about this house!

And this is pretty much what sold me on this house! The kitchen is gorgeous!!!! To the right of the picture, where I am standing, there is another cabinet with the sink and dishwasher and a bar! Behind the bar is an eat in kitchen!

The living room. The kitchen open ups to the living room. it's a little bit small but very homey and cozy feeling.

The formal dining room that Robby hates. It's a point less room but we will use it as an office.

Walking up the stairs. Behind Robby is the bathroom, Jaydn's room, and the laundry closet. Behind where I am standing is the master bedroom and to my side are the two other bedrooms.

The master bath!

And this will be Jaydn's room. Ridiculous that this will be bigger than the master room. It's technically the bonus room but it will fit all of her crap!!!

Merry Christmas 2010!!

First, it was AMAZING to have daddy home for this Christmas, that was the greatest gift of all! We had a great day, even though this is the first year in 8 that we haven't been with family :(. We spent the day at home for the morning and then took dinner to our friends house that just had a baby two days ago. We played some Wii and had a great day!

Jaydn got a bike from Santa but she wasn't so sure about it at first. Before the snow started falling, daddy took her out to ride it and she did great! She like the bike now.

Thanks for the bear Gaga and Grandma Sharen. She is now sleeping soundly with it.

We offically have BEAVER fever at our house. She is currently wearing her PJ's and has worn something Justin ALL day.

Thanks Papa and Kathy!

Thanks Auntie Janice, Trav, and boys for the clothes. They look so warm.

Thanks guys!!! Robby is excited to find a place to hang his new wind chime.

Merry Christmas From BILLY!! He even got spoiled with his very own stocking and treats from Santa.

The aftermath. I'm still cleaning up, I think it will be like a 3 day project.

Well the snow started falling around 3ish and is suppose to continue until sometime tomorrow night. We are suppose to get anywhere between 5-10 inches. I'm happy for a white Christmas but really hope it clears up before we drive to North Carolina on Tuesday.

Merry Christmas to all our family and friends! We love and miss you all and hope you have a blessed year. Thank you for all the gifts but most importantly for your love and support!
