Mini Family Vacation

Before summer ended we decided to take a mini family vacation to Wilmington, NC! Thank goodness we did it when we did since Hurricane Irene is threatening to hit this weekend. Keeping fingers crossed that she weakens and we don't get hit hard.
We spent Saturday thru Tuesday in a little cabin, that was awesome, about 10 minutes from the beach. We had a blast!

Jaydn and Robby running down the beach!

Aren't we cute?

This is the living space of the cabin. The door beside the futon is the main bedroom that had a queen sized bed and a closet. Behind me is a second bedroom that had a bunkbed. And to the left front of me is the bathroom. It had a deck, bbq, fire pit area, and a swing.

Jaydn actually let us bury her in the sand!

The body board was the best investment. She loved being out there with daddy!

Getting past the shallow water is the hardest part.

GO JAYDN!

I love it!

An Albino Alligator at the aquarium. He was trippy looking.

Jaydn and daddy in front of the HUGE one.

Me and BUG!

The cabin had a pool. She has turned into a little fish!

This was my 3 attempt at getting a good picture of us. The first time he flipped me off...typical Robby.
We can't wait until next year and hopefully we will get to spend a week at the beach!

Thanksgiving!

Hey everyone!
Just wanted to let ya'll know that we will be coming home for Thanksgiving! I don't know what the plans are for that day yet or the exact date we will be in Moscow, but it will be sometime around the 20th! We will be spending a few days up North with Janice and her family before heading home. I can't wait to see everyone. We might even have a birthday party for Jaydn as well, she will be turning 7 on Thanksgiving. Amazing how quickly the time passes. Anyhow, we look forward to hopefully seeing everyone while we are there!

It's not Good-bye...it's see you in Heaven

It is with great sadness that I type this. Some of you already know, but for those of you that do not, Great Grandpa Lippincott passed away on Wednesday. He had been in a nursing home for about a month. He had not been doing so well for a couple of months after a freak accident that broke his hip.
He was an amazing man who will forever hold a very special place in my heart. It's hard knowing that I will not see him again, but a relief to know that he is no longer in any pain. I know that he is being taken care of and is in God's hands now.

It's been a rough couple of days, but my heart goes out to Grandma Lippincott and the rest of the family. This is a very difficult time for all and I send my love to everyone.

Until I see you again in Heaven "Old Man", I love you!!!

Want a FRIEND???

Well I don't think that anyone wants this kind of friend! However, this is what Robby and I found in the firepit area. We took the top part off to drain the water and found her in there with her egg sack. While I ran up to get something to kill this GINORMOUS Black Widow, she started moving her egg sag to a hiding spot. We were able to get the egg sack taken care of, but not her. She is now on my list of things to get rid of. I haven't seen many black widow's in my day, but she is by far the biggest one I have ever seen. This picture just doesn't seem to do her justice.

Yard projects

We have started many projects around the house and for the most part have gotten them done! Here is a picture of the house after we planted some flowers. I'm still working on having a green thumb!

The Gerbera Daisy's have done awesome. It's too bad they are an annual flower. I know that I will be planting a lot more of them next year though.

This was the start of putting Jaydn's swing set together. It took us 12, yes 12, hours to put it together. We have since put down mulch and an edge to it. We need to re-do some of the mulch but it looks great.

We had to stain the deck! It wasn't a difficult task, just tedious! It's done and now we are on to doing the 470 feet of fence that we have to do :(. Anyone want to come and help us?

This is the firepit!!! We love this area. It needs a little bit more work. We leveled it out with sand and then put the pavers down. However, we had a massive rain storm and a lot of the sand washed away. We have to figure out how to fix it and try to keep the sand from going anywhere. We have enjoyed spending nights down there. It will be perfect once the weather cools down.

I will post more pictures of the outside projects after we get the fence done!
